Emily was in town for Thanksgiving so she took Logan for a night.

We didn't mind a bit.

Thanksgiving '08

We had Thanksgiving at Grandma Cher Cher's and it was yummy & I found a fabulous yam dish from Thanksgiving Point. I don't know if we can go back to the traditional yams and marshmallows and if you know me thats saying a lot. Then the following Sunday I gave a talk in church on Missionary Work and then we headed to Papa Belcher's for another Thanksgiving.

Orange Caramel Yams and Apples with Pecan Streusel
Ingredients:
5-6 lbs. Yams
½ tsp Salt
2-3 med. Granny smith apples
2 tsp Butter
¼ tsp Cinnamon
1 stick Butter
1 c. Brown sugar
2 Oranges - zest and juice
1 stick Butter (soft)
1 c. Brown sugar
½ c. Oats
1 T Flour
½ tsp Cinnamon
½ c. Pecans
Method:
Place yams and salt in sauce pot and cover with water. Simmer until knife penetrates yam with no resistance. Drain water and put yams into fridge until cool.
Peel apples, core, cut in half and slice. In sauté pan add butter and sauté apples until browned on the edges. Add cinnamon. Let cool.
Place butter, brown sugar and orange zest with juice in a sauce pan. Boil until thickened and starts to resemble caramel. Take off heat and set aside.
Combine dry ingredients, mix. Add butter and crumble.
AssemblePeel yams and cut into discs 1/4". Place in a 9x9 baking dish with apples. Pour orange caramel over the top of yams and apples. Top with pecan streusel. Cook in a 350 F oven for 30 minutes or until browned. This dish can be made one or two days before using.

I didn't get much sleep but I did get my hair done, a facial and my eyebrows done. YAY for ME.

Laura Mercier Event

Check out my talented, adorable sister: Brittany

She is a free lance make up artist for Laura Mercier and does fun events all the time. So I had the opportunity to come to San Diego and get my make up done and I actually met Laura Mercier in person-it was really amazing-she was a cute french lady who told me I shouldn't wear any lipstick because I should be kissing my baby all day long.

SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES TWILIGHT SEQUEL - NEW MOON
Los Angeles, CA November 22, 2008 — Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of NEW MOON, the second installment of its filmed franchise TWILIGHT, the action-packed, modern day vampire love story. The movie will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series titled, New Moon. The first movie in the TWILIGHT franchise, the self-titled TWILIGHT, arrived in theaters this weekend to sold-out showing.

The movie was fun and entertaining-the camera made me dizzy a few times but other than that I plan on going again in the next few days- if anyone is interested in going with me let me know. Go team Edward.

We took Logan and his buddy Nathan to Disney on Ice to check out their favorite disney characters but we found out all they really like is popcorn.

Upclose and Personal

November 7th we went to the Jazz Game and had some incredible seats-2 rows behind the Jazz bench. I was a little awe struck when I saw the players so up close- when we were talking smack about Collins we had to whisper just in case he could hear us. We took my little brother Skyler and my brother in law Jared. The seats included dinner and half time refreshments.

Although it was amazing seats it was hard to see the other end of the court. It was fun to watch the players interact with one another on the bench- Brewer and Boozer were having a great time laughing with each other about plays.
